In cooperation between the Croatian Water Polo Federation and the Croatian Cartoonist Association, the upcoming championship has gained another cultural dimension, so in addition to water polo players in the Spaladium Arena, we will watch cheerful, smiling, colourful and blue works of art. The exhibition in Diocletian’s Cellars was officially opened by Mladen Drnasin, president of the Croatian Water Polo Federation and Davor Trgovčević, president of the Croatian Cartoonist Association. The opening ceremony was also attended by Marco Birri, Director of the European Federation of Water Sports (LEN), Renato Živković, Secretary General of the Croatian Water Polo Federation – and also the Executive Director of the EC in Split, and Branka Brekalo, Director of the Museum of the City of Split. “We have really tried to make this European Championship, such a big event that it is not just a competition, but a collection of many events, including this exhibition. The arena is ready, the final details are being finished. There is also a positive energy, passion and charge in the national team. I believe that we will be ready,” said Mladen Drnasin, president of CROwp.
“We are quite satisfied and proud that in such imposing space as these cellars, we are showing not only the exhibition but also this Festival of Caricatures that the Croatian Cartoonist Association is organizing. Authors of caricatures from all over the world felt the pulse of this sport during the creation of their works and drew water polo in a unique way on paper. All this supports the fact that the atmosphere is heating up from day to day more and more. The bottom line is that caricatures are waiting for you in the Diocletian’s cellars, and the best water polo at Spaladium Arena.
